About me and how I work

My name is Charlotte Roy and I’m a therapist in private practice in west London and a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. I have a Level 4 CPCAB (Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body) Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, and during my training I specialised in both adult open-ended therapy with Headstrong, and children and young people as a volunteer therapist with Hounslow Youth Counselling Services, a charity I was previously a trustee for. I also have experience in crisis therapy through my work with Shout.

There are many different reasons people begin or pick up therapy again, all of them entirely valid. I believe that while we are a product of our past - or life to date - that doesn’t necessarily mean it has to (negatively) influence our present and future. I also believe that therapy can be incredibly helpful and, at times, transformational, when you find the therapist that’s right for you.

Finding a therapist can be quite a daunting task, so here’s a bit about how I work to help you understand if that would be a good fit for you.

I’m an integrative therapist, which means I draw from many different psychotherapeutic theories for my work; always with the principle that the client has autonomy.

With a compassionate and client-centered approach, we’ll work together to tailor each session to your unique needs and goals. Whether you're seeking support for (e.g.) anxiety, depression, relationship issues, addiction, trouble with self-esteem or confidence, trauma, or simply looking to enhance your overall quality of life, I’m here to help you find a way through it all.

My practice is committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgement and with the highest standards of confidentiality.
